Volunteers
Communities In Schools of Renton (CISR) welcomes community members who are interested in making a difference in the lives of public school kids and their families. There are different ways of doing so:
Become a CISR Mentor - When each of us has experienced success in life, we know it takes a team. A group of people who believe in us, a mentor who may be a friend or loved one who helps us cross the finish line. If you have had a mentor who has made a positive impact in your life, make sure to contact him/her to let them know.
Have you consider becoming a mentor to a young person who could benefit from your experience and knowledge? Would you like to share your success? Are you ready to make a difference in the life of someone else who needs help? There are many young people in our public schools who need adult role models. Can you help a young person in need?
The CISR Mentor Program matches community volunteers, like yourself, who meet public school students in grades 3-8 for one hour per week in their school buildings throughout the school year. We have provided services to Renton public school students since 1995 and have grown to become one of the best recognized school-based mentor programs in the State of Washington.
If you would like to become a CISR Mentor, please contact our CISR Mentor Program Director, Erin at 425.430-6659 or email her. Erin will be delighted to guide you through this process and answer all your questions.
Become a CISR Board of Directors member - If you want to help CISR make a difference in the Renton community and improve the lives of public school kids and their families, join our Board of Directors! If you are a business owner or have training/experience in finances, accounting, marketing, communications, public relations, fund development, or other area, please contact us at 425.430-6656 or email. We will be delighted to chat with you about this unique opportunity to serve our Renton community.
Volunteer in the CISR office - CISR is growing and we need help to continue providing excellent services to our Renton community. In order to maintain a well-oiled infrastructure for CISR, we welcome volunteers with skills in marketing, communications, web design/social networking, office management, programming experience, or specific project experience. If you are interested in assisting CISR through its central office, please contact us at 425.430-6656 or email. We will be happy to chat more with you.
