What We Do

Communities In Schools of Renton (CISR) is a local non-profit organization which has been serving the Renton community free-of-charge since 1994. CISR is devoted to ensuring the success of public school students in Renton via its two direct-service programs:
- Through community partnerships
- Mentoring and Family Liason Programs.
CISR is devoted to helping kids stay in school and prepare for life.

Public school students who may be at risk of academic failure are referred for services to CISR staff because in most cases, their families lack access to basic health care (e.g., dentist, maternity care), basic services (e.g., electricity, rent), resources (e.g., transportation, food, clothes, housing), opportunities (e.g., education, employment), and/or balance in their lives (e.g., single parents, domestic violence).

CISR is committed to assisting students and their families to reach balance in their lives and regain self-sufficiency through our programs and community partnerships:
